    5 Nail Ideas for Winter

    9th December 2020

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

Well, it’s not exactly hard to pinpoint the best part of this year, but the festive period always helps perk us up regardless! And treating ourselves to extra pampering sessions in time for Santa has become a staple part of the festivities.

It’s easy to see why nail salons are often booked up for Christmas by September, winter nail designs are just GOALS.

From navies, to reds, to ombré, to deep, captivating glitters and snow whites. That’s before we’ve even touched upon nail art… which just seems to get better and more extravagant every year!

We can sometimes feel overwhelmed with the choices on offer, so here are some of the staple and some of the more “out there” nail ideas for winter that I’ve seen and some which I’ve done in my own studio. Feel free to take some nailspo from them!

    1. Ombré Acrylic

Ombré Acrylic is one of my most requested services, it is popular all year round but the elegance of it lends itself especially well to Winter and the festive period. This style is best suited to longer nails, but can be achieved on short extensions.

    2. Mismatched Gel Nails

I’m unsure why, but I get more requests for mixed nail designs in winter. When based around one colour pallette, these can be evoke a feeling of cosiness and satisfaction in us, which is hard to describe!

There are some amazing designs out there, it is easy to get lost in Pinterest. I personally love icy colours and wintery imagery like in this snowflake and gradient design by @nailcareeducation.

    4. Rich, Decadent Colours

This is the season for plums, navies, greys, bronzes and all those colours which add an instant flair of sophistication! I love this set from @silverrstudio, which would look amazing with any of the rich, winter hues.

This wouldn’t be complete without some good, old-fashioned cheesy Christmas nail art! The following was done by me during lockdown, takes time (and a half) but the end result is worth it!

I hope this helped you come up with your own nail ideas for winter!
