The eyes of the world have been on the USA for the last few weeks and we’d like to take this opportunity to congratulate President Biden and wish the country unity and healing.
The inauguration inspired me to think of some USA nails and the different types of designs you could have! I hope you like them and feel free to try them out for yourselves! Also check out my other blogs, which include different designs for you to use as nailspo!
The Patriot
This one is effective and not too hard to do! You can make it as messy or as neat as you like, its all about the effect of the flag. You could do a white background with the stripes inverted on the heart too. Some nails with alternating colours would be cool!
Team USA
I thought I’d pay homage to the consistent success of the US in Olympics and International Competitions. A nice medal gold with the simple letters USA on top, is effective. I went back over them once cured, to increase the height of the letters and give an embossed effect.
Star Spangled Banner
There are so many ways you can do the state stars. I went for a silver glitter and one large star, you could also do a half and half, or big stars mixed with smaller stars. Its one of those images that can be done many ways, but it’s always obvious what it is meant to be! So go wild!
Now for the Stripes
Stripes are tricky, some people prefer to use a stencil or some tape for their lines which is a great idea! However, I’m trying to improve my technique so I always attempt stripes free hand so I can see my progress. This one could be done horizontally or vertically as well. I chose diagonal to emulate a waving flag.
Tri-Colour
I fancied doing a more abstract design, which includes all three colours of the US flag. This can be integrated with other nails which include stars/stripes or designs as above, or can be put with red, blue or white nails as a subtle nod to the US of A.
